Dear WEEXer,
Read on to find out if different leverage means different position size in copy trading.
FAQ
Will my position size be different if I set my leverage to be different from the elite trader I'm copying?
The copier sets their copy trade position size as 50% of the elite trader's position size. However, the copier only opened a position of 500 lots when the elite trader opened a position of 2,500 lots. Why did this happen?
Here are some reasons why:
Certain situations can occur when a copier copies an elite trader with a set leverage:
- The position size will be the size set by the copier when the copier's leverage is lower than that of the elite trader.
- When the copier's leverage is higher than that of the elite trader, the position size will be: (the size set by the copier ÷ leverage) × elite trader's leverage.
For example:
Let's assume the elite trader's leverage is 50× and the size set by the copier is 10 lots.
- When the copier's leverage is set at 25×, the copy trading position size will be 10.
- If the copier's leverage is 75×, the copy trading position size = (10 ÷ 75) × 50 = 6 (rounded down)
