Dear WEEXers,
Q: What is futures trading?
A: Futures trading refers to the transaction between the buyer and the seller of an agreement to receive a certain amount of a particular asset at a specified price at a specific time in the future.
Q: How to operate futures trading?
A: Click the futures transaction below to enter the trading interface.
You can choose your preferred leverage and the amount you want to trade, and the [Cost] below will automatically convert it to your trading margin.
According to your market evaluation, you can choose [buy long] or [sell short] to make a buy-up or buy-down on the market. If you buy up, you will make a profit. If the market rises, otherwise you will lose money; if you buy down, you will lose money. If the market goes down, you will make a profit. Otherwise, you will lose money.
The position details will be displayed in the position interface below.
Q: What are a buy-long and sell-short?
A: Futures trading is a two-way transaction. If you think that the market price of this product will rise in the future, you can choose "buy long"; if the market price falls, you can select "sell short." The subsequent market price difference is your profit margin.
Example:
Take BTC/USDT as an example. Suppose the current price of BTC/USDT is 8,500. If you buy and the subsequent market price rises to 9,000, the price difference, minus the futures transaction fee, will be your net profit. If you go short (buy down), the principle is the same as described above.
Q: How is the spread generated?
A: WEEX operates as a matching engine for trades and does not impose any additional markups or spreads The buy-up and buy-down prices you see in the software reflect the current market, which fluctuates every second. This means that at any given moment, the prices for buying up and buying down may differ due to ongoing market fluctuations. These price differences are normal and are based on the real-time market conditions at that moment.
The price displayed in the top left corner of the candlestick (K-line) chart is the current market average price and should not be used as a basis for buying or selling decisions. The "Buy Up" and "Buy Down" prices shown at the bottom of the order page represent the actual buy and sell prices, and these are the real-time prices.
Q: Why did I only receive 96.4 USDT as margin when I deposited 100 USDT?
A: The Cost of opening a position is margin plus handling fee.
The system automatically calculates the maximum number of contracts you can open and the required fees based on the USDT you enter. Therefore, it's normal for the actual margin to differ slightly from the amount you input.
We recommend that before trading, you use the Calculator in the top right corner to calculate margin, fees, and other costs. Alternatively, you can directly place orders based on the number of contracts.
Q: Where does WEEX's profit come from?
A: WEEX provides users with a platform and price quotation services, earning a fixed spread on buy and sell transactions. The comprehensive trading fees generated during trades are the platform's source of profit.
Q: How to do spot trading?
A: Please click [Spot] to use the assets in your account to do spot trading.
For spot trading, there are two ways you can do:
- [Lightning order]: Instantly places an order to buy at the current best available price.
- [Limit Order]: You can specify the price at which you want to place your order for trading.
